Pranita Jain originally carried the Bharata Nayuam dance form to the US in 1991.
The stylized hand gestures, theatrical facial expressions, intricate footwork and complicated rhythms in combination with choreography and spoken words-usually poetry-depict the ancient customs of India. Today Pranita tours with a company of up to eight dancers and three musicians, as well as a rare percussion vocal artist.
With authentic, exquisite costumes, dynamic footwork and expressive hand movements and music, the stage comes alive with the moods, mysteries and intrigue of native India.
Complete eductational packet is furnished for theater performances.
Workshops and residences are also available.
